about us

J&B African Market is primarily a mail order home based business located under the jurisdiction of unincorporated King County, between White Center and Burien, all suburbs of Seattle, Washington. As such, services to patrons shall be arranged by appointment by calling (206) 915-5178.

It used to be that mail order food did not have a great reputation — but that’s changing. No longer are orders limited to candy or fruit baskets or beef jerky. Nowadays you can order African food with just a click of your computer's mouse or with a brief phone call.

Don’t know what to buy your brother-in-law or next-door neighbor? The gift of food never disappoints. And luckily, you don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen or at the post office to send the most delicious treats. Order your items online to yourself, friends and family as last-minute gifts—most of them ship overnight by PARCEL POST, FEDEX or U.S. PRIORITY MAIL so you can be sure that your present will arrive on time.

the company (j&b african market)

A stalk of corn waiting for harvest started as a seed; how true, the community we all live in started as a seed  Today, everywhere we look, it becomes obvious we're planting the seed of a brighter tomorrow. In Africa, farmers markets give local vendors and farmers a place to come together and celebrate good, hard, honest work - it is truly the work done by the hands of local farmers. In essence, what they are saying is: "Come out and help us grow, because when you support the African food store in your neighborhood, you are supporting the African farmer."

So, we at J&B African Market are no exception to that call.  We represent a major milestone in the procurement of African food on the internet.  While we understand some things will change, there are two core beliefs that you can continue to count on from us.  First, we believe that the bedrock of any successful business is its character and integrity.  Second, we are deeply committed to concentrate all of our resources on what we believe we do best: "Customer Service - One Customer At A Time". Our business mission is: "To be "Your One Stop" online African food market.

Today, with its 30 million km and a population of 800 million people, the African continent
can be characterised by the diversity of its vegetation.  From the tropical rainforest to the Sahel, the multitude of soils and climates offer a wide range of choices for the different cuisines of Africa.  Typical dishes are variations on cereals, leaves, nuts, grains, roots, tubers, fruits and vegetables, fish and meat, to name a few.

For the past 22 years (1994), the goal of J&B African Market has been to help consumers like you discover and appreciate these variations of African food products. We believe that to discover African cuisine is to discover its history, its culture, and its land.  We therefore offer a wide range of food products traditionally consumed in Africa.

Examples are products as varied as BANKU, a food item as old as West Africa itself and palm oil, a rich red oil pressed from the fibrous flesh around the nut of the fruit of the oil palm, including couscous, attieke which is one of the most popular processed products made from moist and fermented cassava in West Africa. J&B African-Market has made it possible for you to come and discover the rich and sultry blends of African food.

Today, with an exploding global membership, the internet has become the business medium of the new millennium.  Customer satisfaction is still the name of the game.  Customers will demand instantaneous information about a product, service, the status of orders, and exact delivery times.  They know that the technology is available and will settle for nothing less.  With that in mind, J&B African Market is always committed to use these resources in its service to you.

So, whether you are a satisfied customer of J&B African Market or just a visitor, you should know that we pledge to you that we will work hard to meet your objectives - your ultimate satisfaction.

Additionally, we at J&B African Market are committed to finding new and innovative ways to provide high quality service at the most cost effective way to you.  We will continue to work diligently to develop and implement the most efficient customer service available, and whenever possible, pass any recognized cost savings on to you, our customer.

We look forward to serving you, and hope you will make J&B African Market part of your overall purchasing and shopping plan.  We certainly would like to have you as a repeat customer, and to be your "One Stop African Food Market...and more!"   You can shop now from the comfort of your home, and create those exotic foods in your own kitchen, no matter where you live.

We appreciate and value your business and look forward to providing you with the
best possible service.
