World Wide Fund for
Mothers Injured in Childbirth Maternal morbidity is one
of the greatest unrecognized human tragedies in the world
today. The Worldwide Fund for Mothers Injured in Childbirth
(WFMIC) was founded in 1995 as a not-for-profit corporation
dedicated to relieving the suffering of women with childbirth
injury, especially the millions suffering from obstetric fistula in
the poorer countries of the world. This site can help you to become
involved! The goal of their web page is to inform people about
the "hidden epidemic" of childbirth injury in the developing world,
to generate interest in participation in fighting this problem, and
to provide resources to those involved with this very worthy
cause. This organization is being run by Dr. Lewis Wall, an

for funds to build a fistula hospital in West Africa.
